Privacy Policy

BoardLoop is an Australian marketplace operated from New South Wales. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What information we collect

We collect information you provide directly when you use BoardLoop:

• Account information - your name, email address, and optionally your location when you sign up or update your profile.
• Listing content - photos, descriptions, pricing, and other details you include in your board listings.
• Messages - the content of conversations between buyers and sellers through BoardLoop's messaging feature.
• Usage data - basic information about how you use the platform (e.g. pages visited), collected automatically.
• Approximate location - if you set a location while browsing, or allow your browser to share it, we store the place name and an approximate position so we can show you how far away each board is. Coordinates are rounded to around one kilometre before they are saved, so we never keep your exact position. You can clear it at any time from the location button above the listings.
• Board alerts - if you ask to be notified about boards near a place, we store your email address and that place so we can email you when a matching board is listed.

We do not collect payment information. All transactions are handled directly between buyers and sellers, in person.

We collect and use your personal information to:

• Operate and maintain the BoardLoop marketplace.
• Allow you to create and manage listings.
• Enable messaging between buyers and sellers.
• Respond to your support enquiries.
• Improve and develop the platform.

How your data is stored

Your data is stored on third-party cloud infrastructure hosted in Singapore. We use industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit.

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access.

Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your information is only used to operate the BoardLoop service.

Note that listing content (photos, descriptions, location) is publicly visible to anyone visiting BoardLoop. Messages are only visible to the participants in a conversation.

Cookies and authentication

BoardLoop uses cookies to manage your login session. These are strictly necessary for the platform to function - without them, you would not be able to stay logged in.

If you choose a browsing location, we also store that choice in a cookie so the site remembers it between visits. It holds a place name and an approximate position, nothing else, and clearing your location removes it.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To make a request, email us at support@boardloop.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time.
